Zarif Design Trunk Show to Benefit The Initiative in New York City

Gifted Afghan-American fashion designer Zolaykha Sherzad of Zarif Design, Great Jones Studio and celebrity chef author of The Greek Diet, Maria Loi came together in New York’s East Village to support The Initiative with a private trunk show of Zarif Design’s beautiful fall collection.

Ms. Sherzad’s collection was modelled by members of The Initiative’s New York-based Young Ambassadors group, including Alexandra and Evan Woodhouse, daughter and son of Board Member Latifa Woodhouse; Robin Ryczek, The Initiative’s Kabul-based representative; and New York based composer and performing artist, Eleanor Dubinsky. Guests were treated to a performance of the song “Stations” co-written by Dubinsky and Hajar Hussaini (Russell Sage 2019).
