Deputy Foreign Minister of Economic Affairs Hosts Chamber President

May 22, 2017

Adela Raz (Simmons 2008 and Tufts Fletcher School 2010), Afghanistan’s recently appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of Economic Affairs, held a meeting at the Foreign Ministry of Economic Affairs earlier this year with Ms. Manizha Wafeq, the dynamic young President of the Afghanistan Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Adela pledged her support for the work of Afghanistan businesswomen, stressing the need for businesswomen to explore new areas of business as well as the marketing and sale of products outside Afghanistan.

In related news, thanks in part to Adela’s efforts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, India recently inaugurated a cargo transit route to Afghanistan via Iran, making both countries independent from transit routes in Pakistan.
