Danish Embassy Reception for Students and Alumnae of The Initiative

March 18, 2017

The Embassy of Denmark co-hosted an International Women's History Month celebration of the alumnae and students of The Initiative. Ambassador Lars Gert Lose and Mrs. Ulla Rønberg reminded guests of Denmark's generous support of the women and men of Afghanistan and honored Ambassador Hamdullah and Mrs. Lael Mohib for their steadfast support of The Initiative.

The Initiative is indebted to host committee co-chairs, Christine Warnke and John McCarthy, for making the evening possible; to members and partners of the US-Afghan Women's Council; keynote speakers Lael Mohib, Wazhma Furmuli (Randolph College 2010), and Lyric Winik, collaborator with First Lady Laura Bush on We Are Afghan Women: Voices of Hope; and performers Hajar Hussaini (Russell Sage 2018) and Eleanor Dubinsky for their help bringing awareness and renewed support to The Initiative’s mission!
