Adela Raz Presents Credentials to UN Secretary-General on International Women’s Day

Afghanistan’s first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations stresses continued protection of women’s rights and the environment. NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 9, 2019 - Afghanistan’s 12th Permanent Representative to the United Nations since its founding in 1945, The Initiative alumna Adela Raz (Simmons College 2008 | Tufts Fletcher School 2010), presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on International Women’s day yesterday. During their meeting, Ambassador Raz and Secretary-General Guterres discussed the Afghan Peace Process, the importance of protecting women’s rights gains made in the last 17 years and the environment.
